Cherry Custard Apology Pie


This recipe is quite simple, it consists of mostly premade ingredients. The only thing you really have to worry about it mixing the custard right, and making the topping! I didn’t make this recipe at work, it was actually a creation of mine to apologize to my boyfriend (sweet little thing that I am).

For this recipe you will need:

  • pre-made pie crust from grocery store
  • can of cherry pie filling
  • custard powder
  • milk
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1tsp cinnamon

Step 1:

Pre-bake the pie shells according to specifications on box.


Step 2:

Mix custard following the instructions provided by manufacturer and cook on stove-top. Personally I prefer Birds’ brand. Pour finished custard into the bottom of pie shell, about 1 inch think. Chill in fridge for 30 minutes.


Step 3:

Add 1 inch of cherry pie filling on top of custard.


Step 4:

Pre-heat oven to 350F

Mix oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Cut in butter. Sprinkle topping on top of pie.


Step 5:

Bake pie until the topping turns golden brown, about 20 minutes.


Step 6 would be to present it to the individual whom you need to apologize to, in this case it was my boyfriend. Trust me, they’ll forget all about what it is you did wrong once they start eating this tasty treat 😉
